Loser Art teacher

Today I am teaching my last period of the day, Grade 9 Art and everything is going fine. As fine as grade 9 students can be:) I am helping a nice girl paint and I am leaning over her painting and talking when........MY GUM FELL OUT OF MY MOUTH..... and landed right on her painting!!!!!!!!
Serious No joke! She was mortified. A lot of kids would laugh hysterically and find it funny ( I did) but oooohhh nooooo not this one. She was freaked right out!!!!!!
Oh well I guess it is not as bad as last year when I split the butt out of my pants and had no idea. I was walking all over the place when someone finally told me, not before the high school boys wipped out their trusty cell phones to try and get a few snaps.......and yes it was a huge bare cheek sticking out. When you wear a G-string your butt cheeks are not exactly covered!!!! Frankly I am suprised no one barfed at the sight of it!!!!!
I am such a loser!!!!!

photo class

Well I stayed home tonight just so I could register for a online photography class here. I am pretty excited about it. I have really really really been wanting to take pictures lately. I picked up a couple of props a few days ago that I think would be fun for a little kid shoot. I really want to practise and keep at it. If anyone is reading this blog from in and around Saskatoon and you would like to do a photoshoot of any kind please email me!
Cori if you are reading this you should sign up fo the online class as well.

work

Work really gets in the way of life I tell you. I just had the last week off and it was wonderful, great and fantastic. Now I am back at work with 3 million things to do. My kids art show reception is this Thursday night and we are busy getting ready for that. Kim and I decided to drive to Humboldt at 9:00p.m. last night to look at a truck. We bought a truck on Saturday but THIS is the truck we both like. So, he is going to try and get rid of the current one and buy the Humboldt one!!!!! I am sooooooooooooooooo tired:(
Have a good day!
p.s. Barb, I just noticed that you chatted with me on FB and I am sorry I was signed in but away from my computer. I miss you!

Friday

Ahhhhhh my week off is ending soon and I am sad:( I could be a stay at home non-mom forever and never be bored...but I would be broke so that is not good.  I am in the middle of a few projects and do not know why I am posting them unfinished but hopefully that will motivate me to finish them. I am making a 365 book that was inspired by the kit Becky Higgens sold. It created an outrage on her site when they were sold out within 1 day. People were selling her initial kit on ebay for $200 after that. I am doing my own cheap version with a $3 binder and photo page inserts. I know now that 365 is totally unrealistic for me so it will be a version of that in some way.
Oh and that is Benji on the couch in my room helping me craft. Poor little guy, I have soooooo much stuff in here and the floor is slippery. he went to jump up on the couch, he slipped and a pile of craft crap fell on him.........scared the poor little guy!
Ok my new trainer will be here is a half hour to kick my ass!!!!!! aaahhhhhh!!!!!

Couple of things I have made over the years.

I am LOVING this February break It is awesome not working! I am feeling really inspired and loving having the time to create stuff.  Here are a few samples of stuff I have made.
1. Detail from 1st painting I ever did in grade 10 or eleven. {Kass we will not even mention the butterfly} It is a detail from the Sistine Chapel. We were only allowed to mix our colors with the three primaries and of course our shades with white and black.
2. Detail of Large format B&W print.  This was waaayyyyy back in the day of film photography. I processed the film myself and printed the large format print in a huge bath of chemicals.
3. Detail of an unfinished painting. There are a million of those lying around!
4. An actual finished mixed media piece.
5. A small 5x5 mixed media piece.  Thinking of doing a children's series  along these lines but who know's I do not have kids and am not really into the whole kid thing at this point in my life.
That is it for now hopefully more to come!
